Starting this blog has been one of the most intimidating things I've tried to accomplish. I've erased that first sentence maybe six times, but seventh time's a charm.
My first thought about having a blog has always been: Is any one really going to read this?
My second thought: I'm very afraid of starting something and abandoning it.
My third thought is: Well, if anything, my sister will read it.
I wrote those words a week ago, and walked a way. It's a new week, and I'm newly motivated. I can't try if I don't start- so it's time to get started. It's time to jump in, ignore any fears of imperfection, and remember why I wanted to start this thing in the first place.
The origin of Chromatic Caroline has nothing to do with Instagram- but everything to do do with my obsession with food, love of history, and passion for story-telling.
For a long time I used to post more than food- Art, architecture, history, sometimes work related things. Once I was sucked into the Instagram foodie scene my content evolved into all food all the time. While I made some great friends I would have otherwise never met, I gradually realized that those circles of social media folks were often superficial, and definitely far too competitive for something I viewed as a casual hobby.
When meeting new bloggers the first question was almost always,
"So how did you get into this?"
Honestly, my answer every time was,
"I just really love food."
I've never felt so seen.
It's been a long time coming, but I'm ready carve out my own special corner of the internet.
That being said, Hello!
